Voloco version 9.6 introduces audio latency calibration for Android users recording with Bluetooth headsets, ensuring synchronization between voice and backing tracks. Upon detecting a new Bluetooth device, Voloco prompts users to calibrate audio latency when opening a project. Users can also access calibration through the Default Time Shift settings. During calibration, users tap the screen in time with a metronome click heard in their headset. Accurate tapping is crucial for precise calibration, and the test can be repeated as needed.
Introduced in Voloco version 9.6, Android users who record with a Bluetooth headset have the option to calibrate their audio latency. Doing this will ensure that your voice and the backing track sound in time with each other while recording.
When Voloco first detects a new Bluetooth device, it will prompt you to calibrate the audio latency when opening a project. You can also access audio latency calibration by heading to the Default Time Shift settings in a project. If you would like to learn about accessing your Time Shift settings, you can go here.
Using Audio Latency Calibration
When opening the latency calibration, you will be prompted to tap the screen to start. Once the calibration begins, you'll hear a metronome click in your Bluetooth headset. To complete the test, tap the screen along with the click until the circle is full and the test has finished. If the test is struggling to detect your tapping, try tapping the screen with the tip of your fingernail.
Once the test is done, the Bluetooth Time Shift will be set to the new calibrated value. You can retake the calibration test as many times as you'd like. It is important to be as in time with the click as you can during the test to avoid an inaccurate calibration.
